Foundation fun fact
Stress is a word that has become more common in the last decade, but especially prevalent after the pandemic years we have had. It is a word commonly thrown around on social media, by health care providers, and news articles; it may even have come up in conversations with friends and family. Despite this word being used in menial and seemingly random settings, long term stress can have a detrimental effect on your body, both physically and mentally.
In this month’s article, Dr Hanne discusses the stress response and why it’s important to lower your negative stress levels for a healthy body.

For August, we’re bringing you a classic summer staple, done three ways: the watermelon. A perennial childhood favourite, we’re introducing three new ways to keep watermelon exciting for dinner parties, snacks, and additions to your meals.
Sugar, spice, and everything nice - it’s the new greatest way to snack on watermelon. This crowd-pleasing Spicy Watermelon recipe is super simple to make, or keep it even simpler by just sprinkling salt over the fruit to bring out its natural sweetness.
Great for entertaining, the stacked watermelon salad is beautifully presented and full of fresh summer flavour. A fancier twist on the classic watermelon salad in a bowl, the secret to this stack salad is marinating the watermelon in a balsamic vinegar, lemon, and honey blend overnight before assembling.
Watermelon isn’t usually thought of as an entrée, but with the Watermelon Homemade BBQ Sauce from Yummy Healthy Easy, it has a chance to shine on the dinner table. It’s a great way to use up leftover watermelon with a savoury twist, and has only a few steps. Make this recipe ahead of time and store in the fridge to use on your grilled meats and veggies!
