Nothing is out of reach this November, Saskatoon.
November: it’s the first real month of winter, even if snow has already touched the ground. The days are shorter, but as we move into the holiday season there’s still plenty of time to enjoy winter activities and events. Moreover, as the year winds down, it’s the perfect time to try something you’d maybe resolved to do in January 2022.
This month, we’re challenging you to say YES to something new and unexpected in your life, whether it’s a new recipe, a sport you’ve always wanted to try, or that road trip you keep thinking about. The internet is awash in articles and studies that posit saying ‘yes’ is the key to happiness, and we’d like to put that to the test for 30 days of saying yes to new things coming our way. November is traditionally a slower month in the year, sandwiched between Halloween season and the holidays leading up to New Years, but this time we want your help to make it Yes-vember. Let us know: what’s happening for YOUR Yes-vember this year?
At Foundation Chiropractic, some of our goals include trying a bold new hair colour, attending a kickboxing class, and learning the art of calligraphy. Your Yes-vember can be anything you want it to be - nothing is too small to say yes to this month!
In November we will have the following availability:
Dr Janine will be away on November 14.
Dr Lindsey will also be gone on November 14.
Dr Ali will be away on November 19; however, she will be available on November 16 instead.
Michael will be away on November 12.
Carmen will be gone on November 14 and 15.
The clinic will be closed on Friday November 11 for Remembrance Day.
Foundation fun fact
Dr Lindsey, one half of the founding team behind Foundation Chiropractic, says she’s “lucky that chiropractic was something familiar to [her] family [her] entire life.” Growing up in Saskatchewan, it was a move to northern Alberta that planted a seed of chiropractic inspiration in her mind. From childhood to adulthood, chiropractic had played a role in her life, but it wasn’t until her 20s she realized how truly life-changing chiropractic can be - and changed her life accordingly to pursue a Doctor of Chiropractic degree in a new country. November’s recipe of the month is a warming Spiced Black Bean & Chicken Soup with Kale from BBC GoodFood. With only two major steps involved, this recipe is a great use of leftover chicken and adds a leafy superfood to your day. The recipe author recommends blistering or lightly toasting the tortilla wedges before eating them with the soup to add a nice crisp texture to your meal. Serving the dish with diced avocado on top also adds a fresh touch to this wintery soup!
Foundation Chiropractic, in cooperation with the Chiropractors’ Association of Saskatchewan, will be running a charity sock drive until the end of November. Our goal is to collect 10,000 pairs of new socks across the province by the end of the month so they can be donated during the coldest time of year. Donations can be made in clinic; we have a donation bin set up by the front desk. We gladly accept new pairs or new packages of socks for the drive, and thank you for your help in reaching our goal!
We are now fully stocked with our SeWheat line - we carry these SK-made hot/cold wheat packs in a variety of sizes, including:
Eye pillows, which work equally well in hot and cold
Small, medium, and XL rectangular bags (which are similar to hot water bottles in shape and size!)
Neck wraps designed to hug the back of your neck and shoulders
We work with Kim from SeWheat Handmade Neck and Body Packs, who uses Saskatchewan-grown red spring wheat in her bags. They make great Christmas gifts or stocking stuffers, and we carry a number of prints to suit you and your loved ones in every style!
