Crisp days and corn fields - it’s autumn in Saskatoon.
With the end of summer comes the rise of cozy hot drinks and comfort foods. The days may be shorter and the evenings a little cooler, but what better atmosphere is there to relax at home - or in a massage - and unwind from all the hustle and bustle of your active summer? Whether you ventured out into the world as international travel picked up, or if you made your own staycation plans here, we hope your summer was memorable and fulfilling.
Now, as autumn approaches, plans may be winding down - or perhaps they’re just getting started. What’s bringing you joy as we head into autumn this month?
September’s dates and availability in the clinic are as follows:
Dr Ali will be away from September 1-6 and the 17.
Dr Janine is going to be out of office September 6-9.
Dr Hanne will be away on September 17.
Ashley will be gone September 1-3.
Kim will be gone September 1-2.
Suzanne will be away September 2, 10-12, 16, and the 23.
Carmen will be off September 1-2.
The clinic will be closed on September 5 for Labour Day.
Chiropractors’ cooking club
September’s healthy recipe pick dials up the cozy autumn factor. These Red Curry Thai Turkey Meatballs* from The Modern Proper are a healthier alternative to the traditional red meat recipes, and the curry sauce they’re cooked in is fragrant and unbelievably easy. This dish is an easy and comforting weeknight recipe and can be served with fresh rice or roasted vegetables as an entrée. For those who aren’t keen on spice, the spice level can be adjusted via how much red curry paste you add to the sauce as it cooks. *We recommend cutting the salt by 50-90% depending on your tastes - fish sauce is already quite salty and using the full amount of kosher salt called for in the recipe tends to drown out more delicate flavours in the dish.
